Across the Wire:
Germany will be the host of the Turin's International Book Fair 2015

This morning there was a meeting between Rolando Picchioni and Ernesto Ferrero, respectively President and Director of the International Book Fair of Turin, and Bärbel Becker, head of projects with other countries of the Frankfurt Book Fair . Full appreciation from Mrs. Becker for the organization of the exhibition in Turin.

"In particular – she said - I was impressed by the format IBF, International Book Forum, which ensures maximum functionality to the field operators in the performance of their work

But how will be articulated the presence of Germany at the show next year? It is still too early to tell, but some co-ordinated at the meeting has been traced. On the German side there are three parties to the transaction: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Goethe Institut, in particular the offices in Turin, Milan and Rome. Here, then, the presence of Jessica Kraatz, director of the Goethe Institute in Turin, at today's meeting.

"The Goethe Institute will be the bridge, the cultural filter between Italy and Germany in order to offer next year an ever complete picture of the German cultural ferment"  and again: "We are taking a contacts with  series of Italian publishers who publish books of our authors".  On this point, Mrs. Becker has emphasized: "We want others  know not only our literature, but also other aspects of our culture."

Satisfaction by Picchioni and Ferrero who have accepted the invitation to the Frankfurt Book Fair from 8 to 12 October 2014.  At that time, during a press conference at the stand of the Piedmont Region, will be formally announced the presence of the German nation as a "Guest of Honor" at the International Book Fair of Turin 2015.

The event is scheduled for May 14 to 18 next year. But the machine has already put in motion.
