RENAISSANCE EVOLUTION @ MIAMI – ITALIAN DESIGN DAY 2023 Fashion is Female: Lights on Italian Design as Cultural Legacy March 16, 2023 @ Italian Cultural Institute Miami

Renaissance Evolution has been invited to the Miami, Italian Design Day, where the main topic was Fashion and Female, especially Italian Design as Cultural Legacy, representing Italian Language, Culture, Education, Sustainability, and Business for promoting the research and helping individuals to reach purposes and old Renaissance ideals.

In collaboration with the Marangoni Institute of Miami, ITA Italian Trade Agency Miami, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, and Salone del Mobile.

The Consulate General of Italy in Miami hosted an event on March 16, 2023, for celebrating Italian Design Day and for welcoming the new Italian Cultural Institute.

The event was opened by Mariangela Zappia, the H.E. Ambassador of Italy to the United States.
The exhibition commemorated eight female fashion designers, who after the Second World War played a great role in originating Italy’s Cultural legacy in style, with iconic dresses of Elsa Schiapparelli, Sorelle Fontana, Fernanda Gattinoni, Mila Schon, Krizia, Lella Curiel, Laura Biagiotti, and Miuccia Prada.
They subsidized the Italian evolution in Fashion Industry into one of the most players in the ready-to-wear market.

Each robe was dichotomized with Flos, Foscarini, Artemide, Kartell, and Baleri Italia creations that work as microarchitectures to bright a shine light on each dress.
The exhibition presented itself as a dialogue between fashion and light design, demonstrating the timeless spirit and the force of Italians in destroying limits with their artistic sensibility and craftsmanship.

There are around 20 million of Italo-Americans and an increasing number of Italians living in Florida. The strong Italian presence in the “Sunshine State” on the economical, cultural, and scientifical fields was at the center of the meeting that Ambassador Zappia, assisted by General Consul Cristiano Musillo, and with the exponents of the Italian System in Florida.
Many opportunities that Florida and Miami offer and the role of the city as a hub for the South-East of the Country and also for Latin America, while the Caribbean was the subject of her speech with Renaissance Evolution, the Italy Miami Think Tank.

The Ambassador met other entrepreneurs, scientists, researchers, and heads of the teaching program for learning Italian at the Marangoni Institute in Miami. In Florida, more than 12.000 students study Italian, and in the last 3 years, twenty new programs teaching this language in schools and universities are going on.

In the mission, there was a visit to the worksite of the new MSC’s passenger terminal, thanks to the group Fincantieri. The project, supported by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti e Intesa Sanpaolo, built with sustainable materials, should represent the biggest center for cruises in North America, with more than 36000 passengers a day.

The Ambassador met also the Heads of the first Italian boating societies active in Florida, the first State of the USA for selling in this field.
